GOANEWS DESK, PONDA | 22 May 2013 20:06 IST

Newly elected chairperson of Ponda Municipal Council Dr. Radhika Nayak, on her very first day of working in PMC, has asked all the councillors to pen down their priorities for their respective wards.

Dr. Radhika Nayak, second time chairperson of PMC, informed goanews.com that she has taken pre-monsoon works on priority basis.

“Half of this work would be completed by 30 May and the rest will be done in the first week of June,” she said.

The PWD had resumed pre-monsoon works even during code of conduct by taking permission from State Election Commission.

“All the councillors will help the PWD to make the city clean before monsoon starts”, she said.

According to Nayak, the councillors had already started identifying the places of water clogging in order to clean the drainage system.

She also said works at Khadpabandh, Yashwantnagar and surroundings of Sub-District Hospital are already complete.

Deputy Chairperson Shantaram Kolvekar, Municipal Engineer Vinay Desai and other councillors were present at the meeting.
