Income Tax authorities form Bangalore have raided Nuvem MLA Mickky Pacheco-owned building in Betalbatim.
The raid started at 7.30 today morning.
The building has his travel agency on the ground floor, office on the first floor while he lives on the second floor.
A team of around 15 IT personnel, headed by assistant commissioner of IT from Bangalore, is also assisted by local police and CISF.
Besides searching all the documents, the IT personnel also searched Mickky’s cars parked outside.
It was not known what the IT officials are searching for as none of them is speaking to the media.
However, sources said the IT officials also asked for all the documents, including details of assets of last three to four months.
“I have not done anything wrong. Let them do their duty. I am not afraid. I have nothing to hide”, Mickky told goanews.com.
He also summoned his chartered accountant to help the officials in the raid.
Mickky, heading the Goa Vikas Party, is presently supporting the BJP-led coalition government in Goa.
He has two legislators in the state Assembly – he from Nuvem and Caitu Silva from Benaulim.
None of them however are holding ministerial positions.
