Now Radha-Anacleto fight over Mickky joining UGDP

GOANEWS DESK, PANAJI | 02 November 2016 22:25 IST

Mickky Pacheco has divided two houses. His own Goa Vikas Party and also the United Goans Democratic Party.

UGDP’s senior vice president Radharao Gracias has refused to campaign for Mickky in Nuvem.

In fact he would work to defeat him, if he is the UGDP candidate.

In retaliation, party’s secretary general Anacleto Viegas has said he will have no option than taking disciplinary action against Radharao.

He has already started campaigning for Vincent Rodrigues, who has joined the Nationalist Congress Party to cross swords with Mickky.

“Vincent is my personal friend and he had worked hard to get me elected from Loutolim, which is today’s Nuvem”, says Radharao.

According to the former MLA, Mickky has done nothing in Nuvem in last 15 years except aligning with a communal party like the BJP.

“I feel Vincent is the best candidate among all in Nuvem”, feels Radharao.

Contrary to this, Viegas expresses doubt over Vincent’s base among the masses.

“He was with us till yesterday. He should have remained with us if wanted our support”, he says.

According to the secretary general, he would not hesitate to take disciplinary action against Radharao, if he works against the party, once Mickky is admitted in the UGDP.

But Radharao asks how party could decide on admitting Mickky to contest from Nuvem, which is his constituency as far the UGDP is concerned.

“In the party, I will decide who would contest from Nuvem. It’s my prerogative”, he claims.

Perhaps this is the reason even UGDP president Dr Jorson Fernandes had left the decision to the party over Mickky’s offer to join the UGDP to the party executive.

“There is time for election. Let’s see what happens”, says Viegas, in view of postponing the final decision on the issue.

Till then, Mickky’s fate hangs in uncertainty.

JOKE OF THE MONTH, and what better day to bring it out!!!! ALL SOULS DAY !!!!!.....akin to most regional parties in Goa.

Dr. Jorson should hand over the reigns of the party to a sitting judge or one that has retired. given that both the parties are self proclaimed " Leading lawyers". Goa News, can you advise when is the next hearing on this case?
