Fire Brigade used pneumatic lift bags to recover bodies
Two more bodies were recovered by today evening, belonging to UP-based workers, reaching the official death toll to 22 in the Canacona building collapse mishap.
This still leaves seven more bodies suspected to have been trapped inside the debris.
The fire brigade personnel used pneumatic lifting bags (as shown in the photo) to lift the slab and remove the body.
The manual rescue work, which was stopped for a while presuming the crane would reach, was resumed by afternoon.
The crane had not reached till late evening as it is being driven at the speed of 30 kms per hour, from Pune to Goa.
The special crane would demolish the adjoining three buildings, only after which machines would be used to clear the debris.
Meanwhile, the dead bodies identified are Fakruddin Khan and Babloo Lal Gautam, both from UP.
The dead body, recovered yesterday, evening, is still being not identified.
The rescue team, since the building collapsed on 4 January, has succeeded in saving lives of 22 workers, who were trapped inside.
It is estimated that around 51 workers were working on different floors, when all the floor of the five-storeyed building collapsed like a pack of cards, one above the other.
