Bodies of Bhagat & Velip recovered, mother dies of shock
GOANEWS DESK, PANAJI | 08 January 2014 13:32 IST

The rescue team recovered two more dead bodies today, both from Canacona, while mother of one dead worker expired last night due to the shock of her sole bread earner in the family.
Another dead body, recovered yesterday evening, is still not identified.
The official death toll thus now reaches 20, with 22 more recovered from the debris alive, making it total 42.
There are still 10 more workers suspected to be trapped under the debris of the five-storeyed building of Ruby Residency, which collapsed at Chaudi in Canacona on 4 January.
Authorities have stopped even the manual rescue work since the machinery is arriving to demolish the adjoining buildings, which may collapse any moment.
The dead body of Santosh Bhagat from neighbouring village of Khalwadem, which was traced yesterday late evening but could not be recovered as the adjoining building started shaking, was pulled out late last night.
As Bhagat’s family members were eagerly waiting from the day he was trapped under the debris, his 75-year old mother Parvati died last night, with a shock that the sole bread earner is no more.
Bhagat is married and having a seven-year old daughter.
The rescue team also succeeded in recovering one more dead body today, of Dilip Velip, from Vaijawado of Shristhal village in Canacona.
The machinery is expected to arrive from Pune by afternoon, after which the demolition of endangered buildings would start.
It is expected to be completed by Friday, only after which the rescue work would resume.
