Asha Parekh & Tawadkar live in Ruby Residency
GOANEWS DESK, PANAJI | 05 January 2014 12:54 IST

Veteran Bollywood actor Asha Parekh and sports minister Ramesh Tawadkar are the famous personalities living at Ruby Residency, the under-construction building of which collapsed yesterday, killing many workers.
Ruby Residency, built half on the hillock and half by reclaiming a paddy field, has sold out all the 200 flats of both the phases.
The second phase, which was built by reclaiming paddy fields, was nearing completion. The tragedy occurred in one of these buildings.
According to information, hardly 10 to 15 per cent occupants of the first phase are locals. They include local doctors, lawyers and even businessmen.
However, most of its occupants are from Mumbai and Delhi, which also includes veteran actor Asha Parekh.
Bharat Developers have promoted Palolem beach as the major attraction, which is hardly one kilometer away from Chaudi, the taluka market place.
According to information gathered, local BJP MLA Tawadkar lives at Ruby Residency while he has also converted another flat into his office.
The second phase of Ruby Residency was almost complete when the tragedy occurred.
All the flats even in the second phase are sold out while the first phase is fully operational.

It seems like it is the Policy ,of all Goa Governments i.e Congress , BJP or MGP to fill up; "Rest of India" into "Little Goa.
They have already started cutting Goan Hills to accommodate non- Goans.
Very soon a lot of the Goan coastline too, will need to be reclaimed to fit all in.
The word" over-crowding" or " Logical Planning" does not exist in Goa Governments dictionary.
In 20-30 years time, one can easily visualise Goa being the Biggest slum in the world.
