Graft case against Babu fabricated: Cong

The Goa Congress on Wednesday alleged that the investigation by the Anti-Corruption Bureau against its legislator Chandrakant Kavlekar, accused of amassing huge wealth, is "politically fabricated".

Congress Goa legislator Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco told reporters today that the complaint filed against Kavlekar by ACB inspector is politically fabricated and filed at behest of his political master and Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar.

Kavlekar was booked yesterday by ACB for amassing huge wealth through corrupt practices and investing it in Kerala.

Party's Goa spokesman Sudip Tamankar alleged that Parrikar was trying to misuse vigilance department to settle scores against the political rivals.

He termed the recent case against Kavlekar as an attempt to harass him.

"The vigilance department is being used for political purpose. The FIR is filed only after receiving directions from the Chief Minister," Tamankar alleged.

Fabrication or no fabrication, Babu Kavlekar will be given an opportunity to prove his innocence & source of wealth, in Court.

Why fear Justice if you are able to justify your wealth.

Nepotism is a well known trait & practice of life in India.

The wealth attained /accrued ,by many Goan & Indian MLA`s of all political persuasions, is beyond any scope of simple Logic or defies Logic.

I am sure ,Goans are not interested in which Political Party one belongs to. All they want is Pure JUSTICE.

I am sure there are bad apples in both Political Parties.

Many MLA`s have misused their ill attained wealth ,to the detriment of ordinary law abiding Goans.

Sudip Tamankar has recently become the new "Rabid Barking dog" of the Congress Party. His nonsense is obvious for all to see.

What about the case (FIRS) he has filed? Aren`t they fabricated?
