Parsekar goes tough on his brother-in-law, warns the 'corrupts'

Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar has gone tough on his brother-in-law and GIDC officials, who were yesterday caught red handed while accepting bribe.
While government has suspended both of them, the court has remanded them to four-day police custody.
Field mangers Dilip Malwankar (CM’s brother-in-law) and Ajit Gaunekar of Goa Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) were arrested for taking bribe to give possession of a plot at Tuem Industrial Estate.
Jaipur-based industrialist Sanjay Kumawat had approached the Anti-Corruption Bureau of Goa police as the plot allotted to him two years ago to manufacture Ayurvedic medicines at Tuem Industrial Estate was not getting transferred in his name.
Both of the field managers had demanded total bribe of Rs two lakh, out of which Rs 50,000 were paid yesterday, which cost them dearly.
The ACB team led by SP Bosco George had moved into action by laying trap and caught Malwankar red handed. He happens to be CM’s brother-in-law (साडू).
Parsekar, convening a press conference, warned that this is a clear signal that nobody would be taken lightly.
“Former CM Digambar Kamat’s house was raided after three weeks, but my kith and kin’s house was raided within four hours, last night itself. Because I don’t interfere with police investigations”, said Parsekar.
He also said getting investment in Goa is his top priority and anybody who is scuttling this process will get a due punishment like in this case.
He also appealed to all the investors to approach him or GIDC chairman and MLA Ganesh Gaonkar directly if there is any such problem they are facing in setting up industry in Goa.
