MGP not supporting anti-Reddy move: Dipak
GOANEWS DESK, PANAJI | 15 March 2013 17:28 IST

The Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party, the alliance partner of the BJP-led coalition, has clarified that it does not agree with the demand not to appoint Justice B Sudarshan Reddy as the Lokayukta of Goa.
Adv Aires Rodrigues, who took initiative in gathering some political parties including the Congress, had claimed that MGP working president and MLA Dipak Dhawalikar had agreed to support their demand.
Dhawalikar however told goanews.com that the question of supporting their demand does not arise when there was unanimity on Justice Reddy in the last Assembly session.
“Even opposition leader Pratapsing Rane had agreed to the appointment of Justice Reddy”, he recalled.
Dhawalikar agreed that Adv Rodrigues had called him up when he was busy in a conference in Mumbai.
“I told him to let us talk about it later since I did not know the issue”, said Dhawalikar.
There was no discussion on the issue after that, claimed Dhawalikar.
