Mickky booked for culpable homicide

Following his OSD Lyndon Monteiro, the South Goa District and Sessions court today rejected the anticipatory bail plea filed by former tourism minister Mickky Pacheco.

The crime branch of Goa Police has booked Mickky for culpable homicide not amounting to murder and destruction of evidence over the death of his alleged lover Nadia Torrado.

Mickky now plans to approach the high court tomorrow with an anticipatory bail plea.

28-year-old Nadia allegedly consumed poison on May 15 and died after being treated for 15 days in various hospitals in Mumbai and Chennai.

Mickky, 46, is currently on the run after he was quizzed by the Crime Branch on June 5. He was called again to appear before it next day, following which he disappeared.

Meanwhile, Winston Barreto, Nadia's husband, today withdrew his anticipatory bail application from the district court.

Winston Barretto was questioned earlier this week by the Crime Branch in connection with the death of his 28-year-old wife, who allegedly consumed poison last month.

Fearing arrest in the case, he had moved the court for anticipatory bail.

Barretto has expressed faith in the probe being carried out by Crime Branch of Goa Police. Barretto's lawyer said his client expected a fair investigation into the matter as the case has been handed over to a specialised agency.

"The anticipatory bail application was filed when the case was being investigated by Maina Curtorim Police Station. But since the case has been handed over to Crime Branch, my client wishes to withdraw his anticipatory bail plea," he said.

i am not at all sad for the the deseased,We can read in many sacred texts that what you sow is what you reap,hope this poor husband will live a happy life thereafter.mickey is a really goon, i think this kind of activities are in their blood(refer their family background)he should be shot on site by the police.

Winston, good move. So now you know that you are not the suspect but could aid your dead ex-wife to have RIP. The culprits are on the run and so will be the mother of Nadia, shame to call her a mother or a woman, she must be a real monster. If someone hurt my dog, I would have still gone and ask for reason or justice done but this women just pplay the whole episode like her daughter lifted to heaven. She is a liar though she may think that people believe her, no one is foolish except herself and her old lover mouse and sons.
