On the basis of information extricated from Virendra Tawde over the last nine days in Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) custody — while he was being interrogated in connection with the 2013 murder of rationalist Dr Narendra Dabholkar — a joint operation was conducted on Tuesday by the CBI and Special Investigation Team (SIT) from Kolhapur, which is probing the 2015 murder of comrade Govind Pansare.
The joint team conducted searches at the Ramnathi Ashram of the Sanatan Sanstha in Ponda, Goa, with details of this investigation likely to be handed over to court at the next hearing.
