Parrikar wins trust vote amidst chaos

Chief minister Manohar Parrikar managed to win the trust vote by restraining Philip Neri Rodrigues to vote, amidst pandemonium in the house, after the debate.

Speaker Vishwas Satarkar counted votes as 18 of the ruling coalition against only 6 from the opposition side.

The Coongress has rushed to the Raj Bhavan demanding dismissal of the Parrikar government.

The debate on the trust vote went on for two hours and the order against Rodrigues was announced after the recess in the House by the speaker.

Since Rodrigues refused to go out of of the House with the marashal, the police was also brought in the House.

While the Congress legislators cordoned Rodrigues, the chief minister put the trust motion to vote.

Amidst pandemonium while the more than half of the opposition members were not in sit, the speaker counted the votes as 18 against 6 and walked out, adjourning the House sine die.

Meanwhile, Rodrigues was physically lifted out of the House.

It is still not clear whether the Speaker has passed an order disqualifying Rodrigues or an ad-interim order simply restraining him from voting in the House.
