Goa chief minister Pratapsing Rane inducted six more ministers in his cabinet today evening.

He was sworn in as the news chief minister last night, along with his deputy Philip Neri Rodrigues, after the 32-month long BJP-led Manohar Parrikar government was dismissed.

The cabinet includes two ministers from the Parrikar government – Sudin Dhawalikar of the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party and Pandurang Madkaikar, who quit the party to contest elections afresh.

Besides Madkaikar, another non-legislator, who was inducted today in the cabinet, is Isidore Fernandes. He is the first-time minister.

Rane also inducted three senior leaders - Wilfred de Souza of the Nationalist Congress Party and two Congressmen – Luizinho Faleiro and Dayanand Narvekar.

In view of the induction, Faleiro has resigned as the state PCC president. He is flying to Delhi tomorrow, to discuss with the high command regarding the replacement.

As the cabinet strength is restricted to 12, Rane said he would induct four more ministers shortly.
