Ex-minister Ramarao’s brother Rajesh died of oral poison
GOANEWS DESK, PANAJI | 03 March 2016 20:21 IST

Post-mortem report reveals that Rajesh Desai, younger brother of ex-minister Ramarao Desai, died due to oral poison, but known whether he consumed it or forced upon him.
The news of his death spread like a wild fire today morning since his body was found on a farm house in Kakoda, lying on a ground in a suspicious manner.
Curchorem PI Ravindra Desai told goanews.com that the cause of his death is still not known though post-mortem report found a strong dose of poison entering his body orally.
The report also established that the black spots found on his legs were ant bites, ruling out the possibility of a snake bite.
The viscera, which would be sent in the next two weeks, would throw more light through chemical analysis, say the police.
Meanwhile, the police would now start interrogating people to find out the cause of 39-year old Rajesh, who was acquitted recently in the Samir Mapari murder case, along with other suspects.
Incidentally, yesterday was his birthday.
“Our information says he was celebrating his birthday alone even in the jail for six years and was planning to go to Mahabaleshwar this year, but could not make it”, said PI Desai.
According to primary information gathered by the police, Rajesh had told the labourers on the farm at Soliem not to come to work for two days, hence nobody knows who else were there with him yesterday.
The labourers witnessed the body lying on the ground when they came to work today morning and raised an alarm.
Ramarao Desai, former BJP MLA from Curchorem, has urged the police to investigate the death of his brother from all the possible angles, including murder.
The police however have begun the probe after registering it as unnatural death.
“We will probe it from all the angles”, said PI Desai.
