Babu wipes out BJP in Quepem
GOANEWS DESK, PANAJI | 27 October 2015 10:46 IST

A panel backed by Congress MLA Babu Kavalekar swept Quepem municipal council election, winning 9 out of 11 seats.
The remaining two seats are won by the ‘independents’.
Manuel Colaco, who is actually BJP’s local office bearer, now claims that he is independent.
The other independent is Amol Kanekar.
Babu terms this victory as a victory over the ruling party – the BJP.
“The work matters, not the seat of power”, said the sitting MLA of Quepem, of the opposition Congress.
