Now, state awards also for College teachers from this year

Goa government has announced three more awards for the teachers, teaching at higher education level.
Chief minister Laxmikant Parsekar announced it today at the official function of Teacher’s Day, which was postponed due to state mourning.
The Teacher’s Day, normally scheduled on 5 September, was postponed for today due to sad demise of former chief minister Dr Wilfred de Souza.
After felicitating eight teachers at the official function held at Kala Academy, Parsekar said one teacher in the field of technical education and two in college education will get these awards.
The awardees would be felicitated on 19 December, Goa Liberation Day, from this year.
Goa government has been felicitating teachers on 5 September for the last 54 years, from primary up to higher secondary level.
He also announced that permission has been granted for two more BEd colleges, one for BSc BEd in Harmal in Pernem and another one is BA BEd at Vidyaprabodhini at Porvorim in Bardez.
Parsekar himself is the chairman of the college started in his Mandrem constituency in Pernem.
He also informed the audience that 325 English teachers have been appointed to teach English to the students in the government-run primary schools.
