GOANEWS DESK, PANAJI | 10 December 2014 20:05 IST

Youth of Goa, especially the forward-looking girls and women, will get an opportunity to listen to Dr Shaila Dabholkar, wife of anti-superstition crusader late Dr Narendra Dabholkar, on 3 January in Pernem.

She has been invited by Konkani Bhasha Mandal to inaugurate two-day Chitrangi convention.

Chitrangi is a group of women, largely consisting of college-going girls and working women, involved in socio-literary activities.

The two-day event has been organised by Konkani Bhasha Mandal, in association with Aami Pednekar, at Kamaleshwar High School at Korgao in Pernem.

Dr Shaila Dabholkar has been the real force behind Dr Narendra Dabholkar’s anti-superstation crusade, due to which he was gunned down by some unknown miscreants over a year ago.

While Dr Narendra was working full time and moving all over Maharashtra and Goa for his Andhshradha Nirmulan Samiti, Dr Shaila was looking after the whole family while also helping him in his activities.

Her talk would be followed by key note address by Prakash Kamat, a senior journalist and principal correspondent of The Hindu.

The two-day meet will also include number of discussions and deliberations on socio-literary topics, confronting the society today.

The organisers have made arrangement for free accommodation, provided they register their names before 22nd December.

To register, kindly contact Anwesha Singbal (+919923442746) or Vallabh Barve (+919011403089).
