It's a crude bomb for animals, not terror attack: Police

Goa police has ruled out any possibility of a terrorist activity behind the blast that occurred near Margao town of South Goa today evening, as it is found to be a crude bomb.

“It was a crude bomb prepared to kill the wild animals”, said Goa DIG O P Mishra.

He also said more such bombs were found in his house.

The person carrying one such bomb got killed when it blasted while entering in his own rented house, while injuring his wife and two children.

The news of the blast spread like wild fire that a bomb blast connected with terror activities has occurred near Margao town.

It occurred at Camrabhat in Sao Jose Areal, the area of Margao outskirts, in an area occupied by several migrant workers on rental basis.


The bomb disposal squad rushed to the spot to establish the fact that the explosion occurred due to crude bombs prepared by the migrant labour to kill probably wild animals.

“We have prime facie ruled out any terror activity connected with the incident”, said DIG Mishra.
