Blast near Margao kills 1, injures 5 of 2 migrant labour families

A strange blast occurred near Margao today evening, killing one migrant labour and injuring total five persons, including three children and two women.

The Margao police, who rushed to the spot at Camrabhat at Sao Jose Areal, have still been unable to ascertain cause of the blast.

A bomb disposal squad is being summoned.

Paplu, aged around 30, a migrant labour, is killed in the blast that occurred in his own rented house with Mangalorean tiles.

Other three members of the family in the same house, including his wife and two children aged four and six years, are also injured.

The blast also injured two members in the neighbouring house, which includes a young girl aged 18 and a boy aged 12.

 

All have been shifted to Hospicio hospital, a district hospital of Margao.

Margao DySP Mohan Naik said he would not be able to tell the cause of the blast and what kind of blast it was until the experts come and inspect.

The area is around six to seven kilometers
