Almost nearly after four months, Pune crime branch police have managed to arrest two supari killers, hiding in Goa, in connection with the murder of Dr Narendra Dabholkar.

Mangesh Chaudhary and Mumtaz Ansari alias Munnabhai were picked up from Old Goa, where they were hiding by taking advantage of lakhs of people gathering every day for the famous Feast.

This could be a major breakthrough since one of the arrested sharpshooter’s face believed to have been matching with the sketch prepared by the police.

The Pune crime branch reportedly got the lead in this regard after the Anti Terrorist Squad arrested from Mumbra in Thane four persons including Manish Ramvilas Nagori alias Manya, who sells firearms illegally.

The bullets found in Dr Dabholkar’s body believed to have been fired with the arms found with Manya.

The Pune crime branch team, which was assisted by Goa police, immediately left for Pune after arresting the two supari killers.

Meanwhile, the police have also been probing further Yuvaraj Pawar from Satara, who is in custody of the crime branch.

The murder of Dr Dabholkar, an anti-superstition activist, had evoked protests all over Maharashtra and Goa while around 5000 people had marched in Mumbai recently to protest against the failure of the police in nabbing the killers.
