No bikes on rent to Nigerians, businessmen decide
GOANEWS DESK, PANAJI | 01 November 2013 23:57 IST
A section of coastal businessmen renting out two wheelers to tourists have decided not to rent out their bikes to Nigerians any more.
A group of businessmen running ‘rent-a-bike’ business went around Mapusa city and up to Porvorim on their bikes, with posters – Say No to Drugs and Say No to Nigerians.
Jayesh Raut, one of the businessmen of ‘rent-a-bike’ condemned the rowdy behaviour of Nigerians and declared that they would not rent out their two wheelers to Nigerians any more.
He also appealed to Goans not to rent out their houses or rooms to Nigerians, in protest of the ruckus they created yesterday on national highway at Porvorim.
After going all around Mapusa city, the bike-businessmen also went up to O Coqueiro junction at Porvorim, where Nigerians had smashed police vehicles, attacked policemen and blocked the road.
While arresting 52 Nigerians so far, the police have also confiscated 27 bikes on rent they were using.

I appeal to all not to target Nigerians and not to spread hatred towards them.
There are many Indians in Nigeria also and this can affect them adversely.
We are not against Nigerians but against people who are in Goa without proper documents. If they have proper documents and not causing disturbance to the locals, they are most welcome.
What happened on the fateful day was not good at all but let us not forget that they got excited only because one of their colleagues was dead.
It is not fair to target people of particular nationality.
