Chowgules starting broadcast media courses

Chowgule College is starting one-year certificate courses in broadcast journalism from this year.

The four courses are Television Reporting, News Anchoring, Videography and Video Editing.

Monika Kshatriya, a journalist with over 15 years of experience in broadcast journalism, having worked with leading networks in India including News X, IBN 7 and Aaj Tak, has designed the curriculum and will mentor students through the program.  

The faculty includes former journalists, having worked in several TV channels of India.

The prominent among them are Shivraj Parshad (NDTV), Rukmini Sen (Headlines Today), Ravider Bawa (Aaj Tak), Rukmani Vishwanathan (Times Now), Jonathan Flowers from (Anglia TV), Nilu Damle and Amol Parchure (IBN  Lokmat), Sachin Parab (Zee and Etv) and documentary film maker Krishnendu Bose.

College vice principal Dr. Nandkumar Sawant said successful candidates could be employed as reporters, videographers, producers, copy editors, assignment editors, video editors, documentary film makers and anchors/presenters.

The college also ensures job interviews with national and local channels for students on completion of the program.

Intensive short term courses and workshops on grooming and make up, preparing for job interviews, creating video resume, basics of investigative journalism and other topics pertaining to the TV and print media will also be held through the year with qualified professionals.
