GOANEWS & PTI, PANAJI | 14 June 2013 18:27 IST

Students of Std VI and VII would get Net books by July while all the schools in Goa would be provided with Wi-Fi connections by December.

Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar said around 47,000 students would be provided with Net books, a mini version of a Notbook or Laptop.

“It would be preloaded with the syllabus and upgraded from time to time”, he said.

The education department has already moved a file to purchase the Net books in bulk by the month end, said Parrikar.

"The student would carry notebooks and there will be black board teaching. The e-notepad will help the student revise his classroom teaching when he is back at home," Parrikar said.

These are the students registered last year, while being in Std V and VI.

Following this, said additional director of education Anil Powar, the procedure for delivering Net books to the students of V and IX would also begin.

“They would be provided with Net book before end of the academic year”, he said.

The overhead projectors are also planned in few of the schools so that the students can be taught in a more interactive manner.

Meanwhile, the state government today launched special buses to ferry students in the government schools.

State government run Kadamba Transport Corporation will ply these buses on 83 routes.

Today, the buses were inaugurated on 20 routes.

All the 83 routes would be covered in next one and half month, the Chief Minister added.
