Yet another suspect, Pribus Pereira from Carmona, is absconding in the case of selling illegal meat of wild life.
Following a raid conducted early morning on a house of Jose Cruz and seizing meat of Elk (Sambar), the forest officials raided another house in Carmona by evening.
They seized around one kilogram meat in the house of Pereira.
Meanwhile, forest officials ascertained that the meat seized in the morning also contained meat of mouse deer (Pissai).
The case thus became more serious as mouse deer is protected under schedule 1 of the Wild Life Protection Act.
After seizing wild life meat from two places within one day, both the suspects – Jose Cruz and Pribus Pereira – are presently absconding.
