4 Ninth-failed "astrologers" nabbed in Ponda

Ponda Police today arrested four ninth-failed “astrologers” from Tamil Nadu.
These four persons, aged between 30 to 46, were posing themselves as Nadi astrologers and looting even highly educated people for thousands of rupees.
Selvam Naninnar (35), Shivram Naninnar (39), Singaravelam Naninnar (30) and Paundraj Singh (46), all are from Tamil Nadu.
They had rented a flat at Dhawali in Ponda, paying a rent of Rs 8000, and were attracting people through newspaper advertisements.
The fake astrologers had even printed pamphlets as Shree Agastiyar Rishi Mahashiv Nadi Jyotishi, listing out several problems they could solve.
They even claimed to have been having offices in Jalgao in Maharashtra and Dhulia.
Mahesh Naik from Panaji suspected and tipped off the police.
Police Inspector C L Patil said they immediately conducted raid on their flat and nabbed them.
They have been now booked under section 41 of IPC.
