4 Goans among 17 dead identified in Khed accident

Maharashtra police have so far identified 17 dead persons in the Khed accident of a Goa-Mumbai bus that plunged into a shallow river. Four among them are Goans.
Total 37 passengers have been declared dead.
There are also two Goans who have suffered injuries – Shivaram Garudi (21) and Alwyn Fernandes (19).
The four Goans who have been declared dead in the tragic accident are as follows:
- Prakash Janardan Talwanekar, Devoolwado, Korgao, Pernem
- Philip Alwyn Fernandes (25), Sirsaim, Bardez
- (Sister) Martina Martis (64), Sonarbhat, Guirim, Bardez
- Ajaya Yeshwant Kamat (30), Gaune, Bandora, Ponda
The tragedy took place at 3 am today morning as the speedy bus capsized into the Jagbudi river at Khed near Ratnagiri.
The bus was on the way to Mumbai from Goa.
