"6 Congmen out of 9 wanted to join BJP"

Dismissing claims of a senior Congress leader that some BJP MLAs from Goa are "in touch" with the party, the BJP today said at least six Congress legislators wanted to defect their party.

"Six Congress MLAs were begging for favours,forgiveness and entry in BJP," state BJP spokesman Dr Wilfred Mesquita said. 

He was responding to AICC secretary P Sudhakar Reddy's statement yesterday that Congress was not intending to topple the Manohar Parrikar-led government although some of the BJP MLAs are in touch with the party. 

"They (Congress) cannot bring down the BJP government in Goa because it was elected by people with full mandate to rule for next five years," Mesquita said, adding the state government has fulfilled all promises it had made to people in the last six months. 

In the 40-member House, BJP has 21 MLAs, its alliance partner Maharashtravadi Gomantak Party (MGP) 3, Independents 2 Congress 9 and remaining five seats are represented by other parties.

Who told u that parrikar is not currupt. sitting in UAE you have no idea what is going on in Goa. parrikar is father of all currupt politicians of goa. vishwajeet in a public meeting during election called parrikar his guru in curruption. we voted him not because he is currupt or non currupt. we voted him for 2 things. 1st to stop illegal mining. 2nd stop sale of goan land to outsiders. but after he came to power. 1st instead of solving illegal mining he made all the legal mine workers about 2 lakh of them jobless. and 2nd instead of finding better solution on regional plan he stopped regional plan 2020 approved by all gram sabhas of goa and revived vishwajeets regional plan. God knows where goa will head on from here.

If Mr.Mesquita is to be believed about the six MLA's begging to join BJP, then why is he not naming them? Let all the Goans know who are these bankrupt MLA's who are now suffocating to be in the opposition and whose excess income via corruption has drained. They are opportunists! They cannot live without power and political limelight. Mr.Mesquita should disclose the names of these MLA's rather than randomly giving statements to the press. It will be suicidal to embrace these opposition MLA' s to the BJP fold now. They may ruin the party and spoil the goal of Mr.Parrikar to run the corruption free Goa government during his present term.

Why only 6 MLAS, the BJP should take all the MLAs so that they can rule for another 10 Years. The congress Party will be dead in Goa. That there will be no looting of goan resources and curruption in Goa.

i used to always wonder why a perfectly normal person otherwise when he becomes a politician suddenly becomes so arrogant and currupt. Reading the statetements of parrikars chamchas suddenly i got it. We vote a govt out of power and not elect a govt. We do it beacuse the idiot in power thinks because he is elected he is someone great. But when a new person comes in he instead of behaving properly instead starts behaving as if he has a mandate of heaven. he forgets that we vote him because we dont want earlier idiot. it was same with congress and it is same with bjp. winner dances and looser tries to topple. They keep repeating the same mistake though we voters try to educate them for past so many years. They forget that democracy starts after the election is over and does not end at the election.
