Goan boys leading in national chess tourney

Goa’'s Anirudh Bhat and Niraj Saripalli are leading the table with 6.5 points each after 7th round in the All India Fide Rating Rudreshwar Panaji Chess Tournament 2012.

The national tournament is played at Gaspar Dias Hall at Miramar in Panaji.

Niraj and Anirudh played against each other on first board and fought hard for 50 moves in the Scotch Opening but had to split the points.

In the second position, there were 6 players with 6 points each, namely, CM Nitish Belurkar, Rajas Chari, WCM Riya Savant, Sumit Asnodkar all from Goa, Dhiraj Patil of Maharashtra and D Ashraf of AP.
