RP21 to be opened for public opinion from 15 Aug
GOANEWS DESK, PANAJI | 19 July 2012 23:08 IST

Goa government plans to open the Regional Plan 2021 once again for public suggestions for one month, from 15 August to 15 September.
The regional plan would be then finalised by December.
Chief minister Manohar Parrikar today spelt out his policy on RP21, while replying to demand for grants of town and country planning department.
Sticking to his election promise, Parrikar had frozen the RP21 soon after coming to power.
But later on, he defroze it and NOCs for land conversions prior to 9 April were allowed, but based on land zoning defined in RP21.
“We will try to honour the commitments as far as possible, provided it is not a mega project and does not affect the interest of the society at large”, said Parrikar.
He was replying to the query raised by Fatorda independent MLA Vijay Sardesai whether the sanad issued earlier would be honoured.
The government, after 15 September, plans to take up one taluka each from both the districts to notify, while completing the whole process by December this year.
Parrikar however also appealed to the people not to give suggestions of individual cases but general suggestions to improve the whole regional plan.
Most of the queries are relating to converting the green land into settlement, he said.
