BJP going house-to-house, claiming 85% promises fulfilled

The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party has decided to counter the disillusionment spread among the people, claiming that they have fulfilled 85 per cent promises made in the election manifesto of 2012 Assembly election.
In fact they have marked 13 March, the Sunday, to go house-to-house and distribute pamphlets in almost 2.5 lakh houses in this regard.
The saffron brigade completed four years of its rule yesterday, for defence minister Manohar Parrikar taking over the reins in 2012 with an absolute majority.
“We are still left with one year to fulfil the rest of the manifesto”, said BJP president Vinay Tendulkar.
They also plan to discuss all these issues with the people when they distribute the pamphlets.
In fact the party plans to convert this event into the first round of its election campaign as all the elected MLAs as well as their candidates and party workers would visit house-to-house.
Replying to questions from the media persons if these assurances include crucial issues like shifting casinos from River Mandovi, he said: “we are still left with one year and we would answer all these questions at an appropriate time.”
He also did not agree with the observation that petrol prices were hiked by reversing the election promise to make it VAT-free.
“It’s still 11 Rupees less in Goa”, said Tendulkar.
While people are questioning the non-fulfilment of major promises made by the BJP, the party organ of the Sangh Parivar is also threatened by its own parent organisation – the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.
On the issue of not fulfilling the promise of reversing government grants to the Church-run English medium primary schools, the RSS-headed Bharatiya Bhasha Suraksha Manch has also taken up house-to-house campaign to distribute pamphlets.
It also needs to be seen what defence the BJP comes out with on the issue of the Regional Plan 2021, which is still undecided.
