Once Shamba Sawant has been dealt with judicially, he should be punished.Prevention is often better than a future cure.

Dy SP Shamba Sawant is well known within Police Circles and the public too, for misuse of his powers.I am sure there may be more incidents of sexual harrasment that will surface or re-surface in time.Using his position and a favourite tool of many Police,blackmail,re-deployments and sackings, he has subjected his juniors or Junior ranking Police officers to sexual degradation , to satisfy his sexual fantasies and perversions.
The Congress Party has previously protected Police officers that have trangressed.Lets us hope the BJP will now come down hard on erring and serial Goa Police offenders.
The Goan public have no faith in Goa Police. Many are known to be extremely corrupt, have wealth dis-proportionate to their earnings, and many are also on the payroll & patronage of corrupt Politicians and the builders lobbies.
Unlike the useless Congress Party, we Goans hope that the BJP,will expedite cases involving Police officers quickly and efficiently.Justice delayed is justice denied. It is also sad that the good Police Officers , are tainted by the bad.
The other Poiice to watch are Jivba Dalvi and Chandrakant Salgaonkar.Deu Benaulikar has been dealt with, and Sunil Gudlar is on trial. The murderers of Cipriano must be dealt with and the Police involved in the Drug Cases too.The previous Home Minister Ravi Naiik too, should be investigated for his involvement in criminal activity in conivance with The Police.
