Nationalist Congress Party finally declared its remaining three candidates from Porvorim, Mapusa and Mayem.
Fermina Khaunte from Porvorim, Rudresh Chodankar from Mayem and Ashish Shirodkar from Mapusa would contest as NCP candidates.
The decision, kept pending till last minute, has thrown to the winds prospects of Venkatesh Prabhu Moni in Porvorim, Ravi Naik’s son Roy in Mayem and NCP state president Surendra Sirsat in Mapusa.
Sirsat is the only politician who has abided his party’s decision.
Both Moni and Roy have filed nominations as independent candidates.
Similarly, NCP’s senior vice president Trajano D’Mello has filed as an independent from Saligao.
The Saligao ticket has been allotted to former minister Suresh Parulekar.
The Congress-NCP alliance has allotted seven seats to the NCP.
These also include former NCP MLAs Jose Philip D’Souza from Vasco and Nilkanth Halarnkar from Tivim, besides Joaquim Alemao’s son Yuri from Sanguem.
