PTI, PANAJI | 02 July 2010 19:25 IST

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) in Goa has demanded that Deputy Chairman Planning Board Dr Wilfred D'Souza, should be removed from the post.

Dr D'Souza, former NCP Goa Chief, was awarded the post when coalition between Congress and NCP was struck in Goa. He resigned from NCP in June last year enmass.

"I have written letter to chief minister Digamber Kamat asking him to remove Dr D'Souza from the post and give the seat to NCP," NCP's Goa Unit President Joseph Philipe D'Souza told reporters here.

"When Dr Wilfred D'Souza headed NCP it was party limited to few people. Now we welcome everyone who have left the party including Dr D'Souza," the NCP chief said.

Joseph Philip D'Souza who was nominated for NCP chief's post, this week, said that those leaders expelled from the party by Dr D'Souza will be taken back in the party fold.

The NCP Goa chief said that he is not happy with share of power given by Congress to the party.

"I am not happy. I will discuss with chief minister. We want more share," he said responding to a question.

Dr. Willie de Souza, has served this State well and contributed greatly in his long outstanding political career. I think it should be prudent for him to wilfully step aside instead sticking around when his former party asked him too. If he did not give up the Planning post, it will smack of playing spoilsport and making a mess of the standing he has in the history.

Besides, I think all elderly politicians should gracefully retire and cede to the younger blood, before being called senile.

My enemy is your enemy too means we are friends. This is the story of NCP fellows. Dotor Willie and the mouse are foes so naturally the mouse is the friend of Jose Philip who is elevated to the post by natural elimination. NCP fellows has got no morals, the party was formed on some principles but today, they follow different principles. See how Shameless Pawar is licking feet of Sonia Gandhi. Shame on you NCP, you are no better than the rogs int he Congress that is filled with corrupt politicians.

Elected Leader must be active and to know how to utilize his portfolio. Occupying a post and no development being achive then what is use being a leader, and holding a post. So better to resign and allow the next one who capable to do his better job. What Dr. Wilfred done since he is in politics. No development nor try to solve Goa problems for name sake so better Dr. Willy leave and look after you professional post.

Instead of being after power, NCP should be after principles. Mr. Jose Philip D'Souza should ask Micky to surrender to police and come clean in the case. Till then will NCP keep aside all those who tainted by crimes ?
