An attempt to hold the Chakraview party in North Goa, after it was cancelled in South Goa, was foiled by the police under media pressure.
After the media persons informed the police that the organizers have decided to shift the venue to either Anjuna or Morji in North Goa, the police immediately moved into action and stopped it.
The three-day long Chakraview party was to be initially held at Butterfly beach in Agonda village of southernmost Canacona taluka, from Friday onwards. However, due to media pressure and alert locals, the district authorities revoked their license.
Though a Bangalore-based event management firm - the organizers - had promoted it as an eco-party, its publicity on a rave-party website had raised eyebrows regarding its genuinity.
"Police warned us not to hold the party even in North Goa", one of the organizer admitted on the condition of anonymity.
Partygoers and DJs from across the world were scheduled to attend the event. The tickets were priced at Rs 15,000 to Rs 25,000 per person.
