Goenkar will now get Voddlo Pao for Rs 5

Goenkar can now have two sizes of Pao or Unddo, from 1st July.
The smaller Pao of 30 gms will continue to cost Rs 3. But you will also get a bigger Pao of 50 gms, for Rs 5.
The decision was announced today by the All Goa Bakers and Confectioners Association.
Association president Peter Fernandes was however equally critical of government’s biased approach towards Pao, the necessity of each and every Goan.
“You give subsidies and all kind of facilities to the farmers, fishermen, coconut cultivators and even trawler owner. But nothing for us”, he lamented.
The Association has thus demanded subsidised fuel for the vehicles they use to transport bread as well as its ingredients.
They have also demanded that half of the wood auctioned by the forest department be kept reserved exclusively for the bread makers.
No bread can be baked without a Khonn, which requires huge amount of firewood.
Reacting on the controversy of potassium bromite in breads, Fernandes said Goan bread is free from bromite, thus no worry.
