'Nachom-ia' wins yet another international film award, now in US

Nachom-ia Kumpasar, a Konkani film by Bardroy Barreto, has won yet another accolade at international level, this time in the USA.

The path-breaking Konkani film has won the Best Musical Awardd at US-based Tiburon International Film Festival. 

This is the fitfh international level award won by the exemplary Konkani musical, which had also made an entry at the Oscars this year.

The Golden Reel Awards of TIFF are considered to be one of the prestigious awards announced from the tiny town of Tiburon, based in California in the USA.

TIFF is an annual event that showcases the works of the best films by the best filmmakers from around the world.

Nachom-ia Kumpasar (Let's Dance to the Rhythm) won the award in the category of Best Musical at the 15^th TIFF held on 15^th April.

With this, the number of awards won by Nachom-ia Kumpasar reaches eight, which also includes three National Film Awards.

London International Film Festival: Audience choice for Best Film.

Brasov International Film Festival, Romania: Best Film.

Milan International Film Festival, Italy: Best Music and Best Sound Design (open category) and Best Director (Foreign Film).

Global Music Award Silver Medal: Best Music and Best Background Score.
