Goa RSS chief calls Parrikar a man with ‘Muh mein Raam, Bagal mein Churi’
GOANEWS DESK, PANAJI | 01 April 2016 19:51 IST

Bharatiya Bhasha Suraksha Manch co-ordinator Subhash Velingkar has blasted the Bharatiya Janata Party government, especially Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar, for backstabbing Goans.
Velingkar is also the Goa head of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, the umbrella organisation of Sangh Parivar.
Parrikar as well as Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar have been consistently making public speeches these days, supporting primary education in mother tongue.
The BBSM recently distributed pamphlets state-wide, exposing double speak of the BJP on MoI issue by continuing grants to the Church-run English medium schools.
BJP had come to power in 2012 by assuring Goans to stop grants to the Church-run English schools, started by the erstwhile Congress government.
In a press note, Velingkar has recalled the speech Parrikar had made in the Goa Assembly on 31st March 2011, as the opposition leader.
In a press note, Velingkar quotes Parrikar as follows:
“Don’t ruin our future by giving grants to English medium private primary schools. The future will not pardon you.”
“This decision would not preserve Goa as Goa. Its cultural and religious knowledge would be completely destroyed.”
Going against his own speech, Velingkar says Parrikar continued the grants after coming to power while the BJP leaders are now justifying their reversal stand.
“Goans have been cheated once, now they will not fall prey to their attitude of Muh mein Raam, Bagal mein Churi (मुंह मे राम, बगल में छुरी)”, states RSS chief Velingkar.

We understand that BJP have not reverted the erstwhile government stand of granting aid to English running schools. Secondly they have not stopped giving aid to konkani/Marathi runned schools. A wise decision but what we feel that if Congress government had come to power more English schools might have come under government aids. The worst would have happened. Under previous government we have seen lot assured but never fulfilled. And we feel more time is required for the people to understand both Goa Government as well as Central Government.
