Tribute to Sangma: School drop-out who could have become President

At the young age of 11, Purno Agitok Sangma lost his father, following which poverty forced him to quit school.
Brought back to school by a Salesian father who also gave him a place in the school hostel, Sangma’s was a rags-to-riches story of a kind, from tending cattle in a remote village in exchange for a meal to contesting for the highest post – that of the President of India. CLICK TO READ MORE
