Cutting out CM’s photo from hoarding irks Bicholim, morcha threatened

Cutting out photo of Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar from a hoarding, through which can be seen the coconuts prominently, has become a talk of the town in Bicholim.

Irked over this crude act, Bicholim Bachao Abhiyan has threatened to take out a morcha if the culprit is not arrested by tomorrow 5 pm.

Residents of Bicholim were surprised to see today morning the hoarding of three-day Bhatgram Mahotsav put up at a junction near Shantadurga high school.

The hoarding had two photographs displayed prominently, as you can see in the photo, of CM Parsekar and local independent MLA Naresh Sawal, the convenor of the Mahotsav.

The miscreants cut out only one photo, of CM Parsekar, defacing the hoarding.

Naresh Kadkade, secretary of Bicholim Bachao Abhiyan and organiser of the event, has filed a police complaint, demanding immediate investigation by using all the methods including dog squads.

“If the culprit is not arrested by tomorrow, we will take out a protest morcha at 5 pm tomorrow”, he told goanews.com.

A condemnation statement released by MLA Sawal is also interesting.

According to him, these are the same people who were breaking open temples and planting bombs (during Congress regime).

The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party, which was in the opposition when such incidents had taken place, had created hue and cry over the series of incidents of breaking open temples and stealing the fund boxes.

Sawal has also termed it an insult of the chief minister of Goa which he would not tolerate.
