Pop singer Remo Fernandes today filed anticipatory bail, fearing arrest, in the case of allegedly abusing a minor girl, who was hit in a car accident by his son Jonah on 1 December.
In the bail application filed by his lawyer Rajeev Gomes before the Goa Children’s Court, Remo has alleged that the false accusations are made against him in connivance with lawyer Aires Rodrigues, who has filed the case against him at Agacaim police station.
He has also claimed that the false charges are made against him because he refused to comply with the unjustified amount of Rs three lakh the victim’s family demanded from him.
The pop singer has also charged that Adv Rodrigues has been making irresponsible, unwarranted, false and defamatory allegations to tarnish his reputation.
Remo has also claimed that he has the highest regard and love for children and has never abused any child till date.
He also informed the court that he has assured to appear before the Agacaim police on 8 January, in response to the summons issued to him on 21 and 23 December, since he is presently in Portugal on his pre-arranged visit.
He has also assured the court that there is no possibility of him absconding in the case since, though he is a Portuguese national, he is a native of Goa and having properties, business as well as family members in Goa.
He has also agreed to comply by all the conditions laid down by the court.
Adv Rodrigues has filed a case against Remo, alleging that he verbally abused the minor girl in the GMC hospital while she was being treated for the accident caused to her by his son.
The police moved a second summons to him in Portugal claiming that he is in Lisbon and then issued Look Out Notices to search for him in India.
