Goa will host two different concerts to raise funds for tsunami victims. Veteran Gazal singer Jagjit Singh and noted singer Usha Uttup will perform in two different concerts to raise funds for Tsunami affected people.
Al-Shada Trust, a local NGO working for street children, has organised a special concert of Jagjit Singh in Panaji's Kala Academy to raise the fund. The concert is scheduled on January 25. According to the organisers, Jagjit Singh has agreed to not to charge single paisa to sing in the concert.``Jagjit Singh, a strong sympathiser of Al Shada trust, was supposed to perform for free to raise fund for the trust activities. But since tsunami tragedy has shattered many families, it is decided to devote the concert for Tsunami victim fund raising activity,'' said Venkatesh Vast, event manager.
In yet another concert, Usha Uttup will perform in the concert organised by Goa's leading publishing house Navhind Publication Pvt Ltd. She will perform at Campal ground in Panaji on January 30.
The Navhind Publication has already raised Rs 9 lakh for the cause by appealing through their newspaper The Navhind Times.
