Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar said he will not go ahead with IT Park at Chimbel without giving complete information to the locals, while justifying their opposition.
The Chimbel gramsabha has passed a resolution last Sunday, opposing the IT Park, along with three other projects coming up in the village.
“They have a reason to oppose. Plots were sold to the builders under the guise of IT Habitat at Dona Paula”, said Parsekar, indirectly blaming the Congress for the alleged IT scam.
He assured that the government will go ahead with the project only after providing complete information to the people and the local Panchayat.
Similarly, he also assured to provide all the information to the Panchayat about the proposed Electronic City in Tuem, the Pernem taluka he belongs to.
“Let the consultant finalise the plan and it would be made available to everybody”, said Parsekar.
According to him, people are not be blamed for opposing the new project his government is proposing since their experience in the past (Congress regime he meant) is very bad.
He also said that the IT policy would be ready by the month end.
