No probe into blood-stained vest until comes viscera report of Fr Bismarque

Goa police have decided to probe all the angles of the death of Fr Bismarque Dias, but only after they get the viscera report from Hyderabad.

The issue of probing the angle of Fr Bismarque being murdered has become crucial after a white vest with blood stains on it found in the area, where he had gone for a swim in his St Estevam village.

“We have kept all the options open and also brought everything on record. But right now we are waiting for the viscera report”, North Goa SP Umesh Gaonkar made it clear while talking to goanews.com.

The viscera of Fr Bismarque, whose body was found floating in the water on 7 November, has been sent to the Central Forensic Science Laboratory in Hyderabad.

Though normally it takes around three months to get the viscera report, the police are expecting this report within a fortnight.

“Our DGP has sent a letter to the CFSL and we have also personally spoken to them to expedite the chemical analysis”, SP Gaonkar said.

After the blood-stained vest was found little away from the Babhol Manos (sluice gate) at St Estevam yesterday and sealed by the police, the sister-in-law of Fr Bismarque has said it could be his since he was also using the same brand.

The police however have decided to open the sealed vest only after the viscera report comes.

“We cannot jump to any conclusion at this moment while it is also a fact that two consecutive post-mortem reports have stated that Fr Bismarque did not have any pre-mortem (pre-death) injuries on his body”, says Gaonkar.

Both the post-mortem reports have stated that the injuries found on his dead body are the work of aquatic creatures.

Fr Bismarque had gone for a swim at the sluice gate post-midnight on 5 November while his body was found floating in the creek on 7 November afternoon.

The death of a priest-turned-activist had spread a shock wave among Goans all over the world while candle-light vigils and public meetings in different parts of Goa have been echoing the suspicion that Fr Bismarque might have been murdered.

He had also filed police complaints earlier about receiving threats to his life since he had opposed several illegal projects in his village as well as all over the state, including resorts and golf courses.

The blood-stained vest found on the other path, from where came back two young boys accompanying Fr Bismarque the whole night, had deepened this suspicion.

Gaonkar said the police do not rule out any possibility but they would follow a proper investigation procedure of maintaining all the records, which would be opened up only after the viscera report arrives.

Viscera contains parts of all the organs of the body, of which chemical analysis is conducted to find out whether the stomach content or blood contained anything like poison, drugs, alcohol etc.

Our Goa Police are very slow and are trying to destroy all the evidences. Based on the clues and evidences, it's a 100% murder. Goa Police may say anything ;but they are either incompetent or covering the murders. Corrupt Goa Police and scum BJP Government can't fool Goans all the time as all the Goans know it's a murder.
