Following the social activists, activist-MLA Vishnu Wagh has now echoed the demand to probe the tragic death of Fr Bismarque Dias.

The ruling BJP legislator has written a letter to Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar, urging him to constitute a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to find the exact cause of Fr Bismarque's death.

According to St Andre MLA, Goa's firebrand environmentalist and social activist has died under ‘mysterious circumstances’.

“His friends and relatives are not ready to believe that his death was accidental. Many people have expressed fear that somebody might have conspired to physically eliminate the Fighter Father”, states Wagh.

Taking into consideration the general public opinion, he has requested the CM to appoint SIT team headed by senior police officers.

Fr Bismarque was the classmate of Wagh in Dhempe College and was also an enthusiastic member of Wagh s cultural troupe, states the letter.

BACKGROUND

Fr Bismarque, a priest-turned-activist, had died in the creek of his St Estevam village on 6 November, the day he went missing.

His dead body was found floating the next day morning little ahead from Babhol Manos (a sluice gate) where had gone for a swim post-midnight of 5 November.

Two teenage boys accompanying him told the Old Goa police that three of them had drunk almost two cartons of beer, since evening till midnight of 5 November, after which he had gone swimming in the creek.

The boys came home next day morning but not Fr Bismarque, whose clothes, sandals and mobile were found on the banks of the river.

While the first post-mortem report conducted at GMC hospital stated that he died due to drowning, relatives and social activists refused to believe it since he was receiving threat calls for some days.

The second post-mortem was demanded due to injuries found on his body. The second autopsy stated that the injury marks were not pre-mortem but marks of aquatic creatures.

While second autopsy has suggested waiting for viscera report and chemical analysis to know the actual cause of death, social activists and relatives have demanded a thorough probe into the tragic death of Fr Bismarque, from all angles.

You can kill the body but NOT the soul. Fr Bismarque' soul WILL haunt the KILLERS throughout their lives. Hope justice is done and the killers may get their reward in JAIL.

First n foremost let the family members n supporters of Father Dias decide unanimously the spl investigstion team n its constituents. Then they should also select the court of trial. Else all efforts will end up in only doubts.
