Vishwajeet works out 'harmony formula' in Valpoi, with Muslim woman as VCP

Vishwajeet Rane with 8 elected councillors & supporters
Congress MLA Vishwajeet Rane has worked out a Hindu-Muslim formula in Valpoi while also making a Muslim woman vice chairperson of the newly elected municipal council.
Ramdas Shirodkar would be the new chairperson of Valpoi while Shaizin Shaikh would be the vice chairperson, Rane told goanews.com.
Similarly, he said, Anil Katkar would be elected the chairman of the Standing Committee.
All would complete the five-year term in their positions, said Rane.
Out of 10, Rane managed to win 8 seats in the Valpoi council elections, held on 25 September.
The new councillors would be now sworn in on 5 November while also electing the chairperson and the vice chairperson.
