Goa police today registered a fourth complaint against senior journalist Rupesh Samant, this time crossing the ambit of journalism, offering to provide a job in return of sexual favours.

A woman employee has filed a complaint at Women’s police station, stating that she flatly refused to satisfy Samant’s lust.

According to PI Sudiksha Naik, the complaint has been filed under sections 354 A (sexual harassment) and 509 (outraging modesty of woman) of IPC.

The complaint accuses Samant of unwelcome behaviour and demanding sexual favours from a woman against her wishes.

Meanwhile, the police have issued a fourth summons to Samant as he has not responded to earlier summons served at his residence.

He is still not traceable, said the police.

Samant’s anticipatory bail would come for hearing on 6 October, where police have stated that they need his custody since he is not cooperating with investigation.

Samant is Goa bureau chief of Press Trust of India and was anchoring several programmes at HCN, the cable TV channel of Herald Group of Publications.
