Wagh says NO about Dy Speaker's post

The posts of speaker and deputy speaker have run into controversy since St Andre MLA Vishnu Wagh has expressed his reluctance over the deputy speaker’s post.
He claims that his name for the post was never announced at yesterday’s meeting.
The announcement was formally made at a dinner meeting of BJP ministers and MLAs last night by defence minister Manohar Parrikar.
According to Wagh, Parrikar announced only two names – speaker Rajendra Arlekar to be made the minister and deputy speaker Anant Shet to be elevated as the speaker.
It was chief minister Laxmikant Parsekar, who later told section of the media that Wagh would be made the deputy speaker.
Parsekar however is now not lifting the phone.
And will Wagh take up the post of deputy speaker if offered?
“If offer is made, I will take the right decision at right time”, he says in a non-committal tone.
Sources in the BJP reveal that the offer to Wagh was made by Parsekar while confirming that Parrikar had not announced his name.
It is also learnt that Wagh is actually trying for the speaker’s post, taking advantage of the fact that Shet may not be able to play the role of an effective speaker.
The controversy thus continues while Arlekar is fully getting prepared to take up a new responsibility of a minister, with influential portfolios.
