Nominations for 11 civic polls begin tomorrow, 30 Sept

Nominations for election of 11 municipal councils all across the state would begin tomorrow, 30 September.
The elections would be held on 25 October and code of conduct has already come into force.
The schedule of elections, announced by Goa State Election Commission, is as follows:
Nominations 30 September till 8 October
Holidays 2 and 4 October
Timing 11 am to 2 pm
Scrutiny 9 October
Withdrawal 10 October
Final list 10 October at 2 pm
Polling 25 October (8 am – 5 pm)
Counting 27 October (8 am onwards)
Elections would be held for 159 wards of 11 municipalities, spread over 307 polling stations.
The State Election Commission has told the candidates to down load the forms and submit along with the necessary documents to the Returning Officer along with the prescribed deposit as per the Act, states the government communiqué.
But nothing regarding the municipal elections was found uploaded on the website, when this news was uploaded.
The schedule of elections, reservation notification, nomination forms along with affidavits, forms for appointment of Polling/ Counting Agents, Election Agents, instructions to the candidates, nomination fees has already uploaded on the Goa State Election Commission’s website.
District Collectors have been appointed as the District Municipal Council Election Officers.
The State Election Commission is fully geared up for conduct of election, soliciting cooperation of public and political parties, print and electronic media for conduct of free, fair and peaceful elections.
