8 teachers bag State Awards, function on 8 Sept

Eight teachers have bagged the prestigious annual state awards for Teachers this year, for the services they have rendered in the field of teaching.
The official function, normally held on 5 September – Teacher’s Day – would be now held on 8 September at Kala Academy at 10.30 am.
The function is postponed since the state is mourning the sad demise of Dr Wilfred de Souza, Goa’s former chief minister.
The awards are as follows:
PRIMARY

SECONDARY

Colette Francisca Xavier, Asst Teacher, Pope John XXIII High School, Quepem
HEADMISTRESS
Shobha Mhadgut, Headmistress, The Progress High School, Panaji
Snehal S. Sanzgiri, Headmistress, Deepvihar High School, Head Land Sada, Vasco
HIGHER SECONDARY
Navnath B. Sawant, Teacher Grade I, Smt. C. T. Naik Higher Secondary School, Curchorem
