Grant mercy to Mickky, will flood with pleas of all criminals: AAP

Aam Aadmi Party’s Goa unit has threatened to flood with mercy petitions of all the criminals in Goa jails if Goa’s BJP government recommends approval of mercy petition of Nuvem MLA Mickky Pacheco.

A press note issued by Goa’s ad-hoc secretary Valmiky Naik in this regard states as follows:

“Let the people of Goa then observe whether the law really works the same for all, or whether under the BJP rule it is different for the Khaas Aadmi and different for the Aam Aadmi.

In the world-famous board game "Monopoly", there is a concept of the "Get out of jail free" card which one can purchase from another player in order to avoid being stuck in jail.

With respect to the issue of Mickky Pacheco's incarceration, it appears the Goa Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar, under the grave misconception that he has a monopoly over the rule of law, is playing similar games with the people Goa.

AAP Goa is shocked to learn that the government is not only planning to allow Pacheco to attend the forthcoming Assembly session, but is seriously considering the flimsy mercy petition filed by a convicted criminal.

In a complete travesty of justice, the Bharatiya Janata Party has amply demonstrated that it officially considers politicians as being above the law, and will stop at nothing to abuse its power and allow a convicted criminal to not only enter the hallowed halls of our Legislative Assembly, but also avoid a minor jail sentence awarded after a long, arduous and brave legal battle by a government employee.

AAP Goa urges the Goa Government Employees Association to step in and warn the government against allowing Pacheco to escape from jail, as it would set a dangerous precedent and increase the risk of other government employees being abused and assaulted by politicians and their henchmen.

The BJP has shown its true authoritarian colours in many of the states it is ruling in.

In a stunning attack on the constitutional separation of Judiciary and Legislature, the Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis recently proposed a law that would require the Assembly Speaker's approval to file an FIR against politicians.

In another similar case of serious breach of separation of powers, the Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Chauhan attempted to muzzle activists and whistleblowers through the "Tang Karne Wala Muqadmebazi Nivaran" Bill that would allow the Advocate-General, an appointee of the government itself, to disallow a Court from accepting a case against government functionaries.

Further, the repeated attempts by the BJP-led Union Home Minister and Lieutenant-Governor to seriously interfere in the smooth functioning of a democratically elected AAP government in Delhi, is an ongoing case of political dadagiri by the BJP and vindictive politics against the people of Delhi.

The Goa Chief Minister, doing all he can to bend the law to benefit his political ally, is now adding Goa to this embarrassing list.”

It is right from AAP party side to file mercy petitions as "JUSTICE DELAYED IS JUSTICE DENIED" AND WE ARE A VIBRANT DEMOCRACY WHERE people like Shree Arvind Kejriwal are always fighting to give people corruption free governence.

I hope you all work together in a constructive manner such that all other Indians take example of yours to get justice in other parts of our country.

Please pay attention to malnutrition of children in India as malnutrition is a personality trait of every child.
